The purpose of this blog is to present a collection of tips&tricks of ballet technique. Showcasing some fabulous dancers as well as giving advices to the aspiring dancers that need them.
Ballet technique has come a long way in the last few decades. What was incredible and awe-inspiring in the 1950s is now considered a commonplace in every company and even a mandatory part of technique for all dancers, not just the principals. Unfortunately there are lots of teachers now who are still prisoners of the last century, giving inadequate and outdated knowledge to their students. I can't imagine anything more depressing for a young dancer than to get into a company and finding out that they don't know half the steps that they are required to perform...not to mention that they probably wont even get a job in any company.
In a situation like this I will try to present some knowledge in the form of written tips and in videos that can hopefully help future dancers that are going through their schooling now.
